Meaning: Just, only, simply, as much as
When to use?
1) After noun
Sore ga dekiru no wa suzuki dake desu.
= Suzuki is the only one who can do it.
2) After particle
Sono koen wa nihon dake ni arimasu.
= That garden exists only in Japan.
3) After dictionary form of verb
Kore wa yasui dake desu. Hinshitsu wa yoi desu.
= This is just cheap. The quality is good.
4) After ta form of verb/adjective
Anata wo mi ni kita dake desu.
= I just came here to see you.
5) After nai-form of verb/adjective
Ikitakunai dake desu.
= I just don't want to go.
6) After adjectival noun
Kanojo wa yuumei + na dake de taishita gaka dewa arimasen.
= He is merely famous, and not much an artist.
